My name is Rebecca, and as you may have noticed, I have a doll obsession !

I'm Mum to two young children, Joseph aged 5 and Tahlia aged 2 (and to Timothy, he's actually my husband but I'm sure that all you ladies know what I mean!).

I made the decision to stay at home and be a full-time Mum to my children, which also gives me some time to indulge in my doll obsession ! I'm dreading the day when my daughter is old enough to want to play with my Dollies, I can just see myself wrenching them from her grasping little hands, saying "No Tahlia No, they're mine mine mine!!".

That said, I have started a small collection of my child dolls, currently in one of my display cabinets, for her when she is older. On the odd occasion she gets to cuddle (gently) some of my dolls, 25" kaders are her favourite!

My Grandmother used to make designer wedding dresses and evening wear back in the 1960's, she taught my Mother to sew, my Mother made all our clothes when my brother and I were children, with me watching on. I got my first toy sewing machine when I was very little and spent many hours studiously making  things. I was about nine years old when I got my first "grown up" sewing machine. It was an antique pfaff, and I still have it under the house.

Now more about my Doll Obsession:

Like all little girls, I adored my dolls when I was little. I guess with most girls that's where it stops, but with me, it didn't. I don't want to grow up, and I don't have to, so I won't !

My main obsession is with hard plastics and kaders. I have a comprehensive collection, which I adore! I'm constantly on the prowl for a new "baby" (of the plastic variety!). I love to make clothes for my dolls, and I've cleverly infected my Mother will the obsession, so now I have her making them too (smart move!). Every dress I have has been made with love and great care in order to be worthy of being worn by these magnificent dolls.

I love to hear stories from other doll collectors about their dolls, fantastic finds, interesting information, how they got interested in dolls, anything doll related realy.. it is a wonderfull passion of mine, and i like to share my stories with others.
