CRICHTONS CRAFT
Just a little note to tell you about our family business Crichtons Craft.
From 1971 until 2000 we had craft shops firstly in Pendle Hill, then also in Toongabbie and Colyton. This felt like 2 stores too many, so we went back to just one store; which allowed us to focus on classes and supplies for Folk Art and Patchwork.
In May 2000, we decided that it was time to retire. We took our business from Pendle Hill to our home studio and online to our website . So much for retiring, instead of slowing down we are working more hours than ever before AND having a whole lot more fun. Everybody we deal with is just so nice, and of course, we all share the common interest of Folk Art and Decorative Painting, Paper Tole and Decoupage.
Bob makes all the wooden pieces that we sell and he also does the framing for our paper tole students.
I teach 4 or 5 mornings a week and 3 nights. I teach Folk Art, Landscape Painting in both Oil and Acrylics, Watercolour, as well as Paper Tole and Decoupage. Recently, I have started to dabble in 3D Card making.
We have quite a large website now, all developed and maintained by my daughter; Amanda. The site has lots of pictures in the gallery so that you can see what my students and I have been up to. There is also a freebie section with free patterns and articles for you to use, and a very extensive catalogue. The catalogue will give you an idea of just how many wooden shapes, patterns and books we carry, as well as a full range of Matisse Folk Art paints and mediums.
We are always making additions to the site so if you would like to keep in touch with us, you are very welcome to join our mailing list.
Of course, not everything is in the online catalogue, there are lots more wooden shapes and we also have a big range of brushes. You will just have to come out and visit if you want to see all the wonderful things we have in stock and in our Folk Art gallery.
Oops nearly forgot I am also a Matisse Paint Consultant.
