Who
Owns Kool and Unusual?
My name
is Kirstyn McDermott and, like many people
here, I started out eBay life as a buyer but quickly realised
that it was also a great place to sell. I've been operating
as a registered full-time business since 2001 and have built
up a lot of experience and expertise over the years. Most
importantly, I really really love what
I do!
I own
and run Kool and Unusual, with some help
from my partner when things get busy, so you can always
be sure of prompt and personal service. I'm constantly sourcing
new suppliers and products, with a philosphy to never stock
anything that I wouldn't be happy to own, wear or use myself.
Of course, this philosophy does have its downside as I generally
would like to keep almost every item that I sell and my
house is not that big. I'm also rather obsessive about quality
and style, so you won't find any cheap junk in my store
... inexpensive, maybe ... top quality, always!
A
keen photographer, I produce almost all of the images used
in my listings. Occasionally I'll use a stock photograph
from a supplier, but only when I can't come up with something
better – which isn't very often, if I do say so myself.
Knowing how problematic it can be to buy something sight
unseen over the internet, I always take great care to ensure
that my images accurately reflect the product being sold,
so you can be confident that you'll receive exactly what
you expect.
When
not running my business, I spend most of my time reading
books, writing fiction, watching movies and lounging around
with my cats. I'm hoping to come back as a cat in my next
life if I'm a really, really good girl this time round!
