WE WILL BE offering numerous rare and hard-to-get Kiwi music CDs and movie DVDs during the year - check back here for a list of future items to be offered or email us for a list. We can obtain much sought after CD rarities including deleted Flying Nun, and Dunedin Sound releases (including The Clean, The Chills, The Verlaines, Toy Love, Sneaky Feelings...). All CDs are NEW (Neu, 新品) except where noted. Supply is strictly limited - and yes, we usually only have one ot two of any items being offered.

Our upcoming auctions will include several hard to find New Zealand-only CD releases from such Kiwi musicians as Bic Runga, Tim Finn, Dave Dobbyn, Shona Laing, Jackie Bristow, and SJD among others.

From time to time we may list the “Holy Grail” for Bic Runga collectors — the NZ-exclusive, 17-track limited re-release of her 1999 debut album Drive which includes a bonus disc of rare early live and B-side recordings not available elsewhere. We still occasionally come across them in mint to new condition, but they are generally almost impossible to obtain outside NZ.

Bic Runga’s Birds CD/DVD Special Edition was well worth the wait, as it marks her first (albeit limited issue) DVD release. This 2006 Special Edition features two bonus audio tracks on the CD: “Somewhere In The Night” (released as a B-side in N.Z. and UK bonus track) and a previously unreleased cover of “Something’s Gotten Hold of My Heart”, which are in a revised track order that improves upon the original 2005 Birds release. It includes a bonus DVD (PAL / All Zone) featuring concert footage of Bic performing five songs from her Birds album Live at the Auckland Civic Theatre in November 2005, in addition to two music videos: “Winning Arrow” and “Say After Me” from that album. This Birds CD/DVD Special Edition was only released in New Zealand.

Kiwi exclusive live recording featuring three of New Zealand’s top artists, Tim Finn (founder of Split Enz who later joined brother Neil’s Crowded House), Bic Runga (alternative pop superstar) and Dave Dobbyn (founding member of Th’Dudes, DD Smash and one of N.Z.’s most popular and respected music figures). 15 live tracks: five from each artist, all recorded during their sell out August - September 2000 tour of NZ.

The synergy between this Kiwi trio makes for some brilliant performances, playing some of their best known and loved songs. Dave’s “Loyal” will always be a winner and “Whaling” simply rocks. Tim performs such Split Enz classics as “Six Months In A Leaky Boat” and “I See Red”, and Crowded House’s “Weather With You”. Continuing the strong Kiwi singer/songwriter, guitar-playing tradition, Bic delivers soulful acoustic performances of her hits “Drive” and “Sway”. Pride of place in any NZ music collection. Many of these songs were voted amongst eNZed’s top 100 songs of all time.

Hard to find two-disc, 19-track New Zealand only edition of her second album Beautiful Collision in special slip case with bonus 7-track compilation featuring Bic’s unreleased duets and solo work. NOTE: this 2 CD NZ edition is alone worth it for the dreamy B-sides “Gracie” and “You Don’t Want To Know” on the bonus disc.

Beautiful Collision is the multi-platinum follow up to her hugely-successful 1999 debut album, Drive. Bic’s growth as a songwriter shows up on virtually all of these songs which were composed and arrangements by Bic Runga; ably assisted on many tracks by such great Kiwi musicians as Dave Dobbyn (acoustic & electric guitars) and Neil Finn (vocals, piano, Wurlitzer piano) among others.

Bic Runga Live in Concert was recorded live in her home town of Christchurch prior to her sell out April - May 2004 Acoustic Church Tour of New Zealand. Her amazing one-off performance with the Christchurch Symphony orchestra once again shows what an incredibly multi-faceted artist Bic really is, and is not to be missed. Apparently there was little to no time for rehearsals for this concert (Bic’s first with an orchestra), so everyone had to hit their marks, which they did every time.

This delightful album features 11 live tracks including covers of Bob Dylan’s “One More Cup of Coffee”, Jacques Brel’s “Ne Me Quitte Pas”, Burt Bacharach’s “Anyone Who Had a Heart”, Nick Cave’s “And No More Shall We Part”, and Rose Royce’s “Wishing On A Star”, along with many of Bic’s own most popular compositions. “Wishing On A Star” is a revelation and reason enough to buy this live album - the rest are sublime. Even Dylan’s “One More Cup of Coffee” is delivered with such authority and sexual melancholy that you’d swear she wrote it. Singing her own material, she is unparalleled. Understated, minimalist, and focused - in other words, Bic did it right. There is an intimacy to her voice that few other artists can approach. Somewhat difficult to find as this was a NZ-only release.

When purchasing CD and DVD titles be aware that with some albums or movies, eBay is flooded with inferior bootleg or Asian all-region imports. All our items are genuine studio-released New Zealand editions with all the features and extras you expect: booklets, slip cases and inserts. Unlike our bargain basement competitors, we never sell second-hand CDs as new, CD-Rs, copies, bootlegs, promos, shop returns, cut-outs, overstocks or low-quality Russian & Chinese market CDs.

Shipping and Handling

We generally ship the same or next day after full payment is received. International Priority Airmail delivery time averages around 3 to 10 business days depending upon destination. All shipments are professionally packaged in bubblewrap to protect jewel cases plus extra layer inside jewel cases to prevent CDs becoming dislodged; items shipped without jewel cases are securely packaged between heavy-duty card & bubblewrap to protect CDs, inserts, slipcases and booklets.

Note that S&H rates are lower when CDs are shipped without the jewel cases (excluding digipak cased items), but with all original inserts, slipcases and booklets, etc. Contact us for additional cost if you require registered delivery or another carrier such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL. Optional insurance, without or with track & trace (mandatory for all PayPal sales), is available on all our auctions - contact us for rates.

Tax and Duties

We do not collect sales tax, VAT, or GST. Any import taxes, levies, fees, or duties levied by the authorities of your country once the shipment reaches you are the purchaser’s responsibility. Lightweight items sent by Airmail Priority letter post are often not subject to tax or import duties depending on your country.

Money Back Guarantee

If you receive a damaged item or an item that was not described correctly in our auction, you are welcome to return the item to us for an exchange (same item), credit or refund (if a replacement is not available) within 30 days of the auction ending. Contact us with a description of the problem, but please do not return items before we can respond to your request.

Feedback

We are happy to leave feedback in response to what has been left for us and we monitor our feedback regularly. We’ll reciprocate at the conclusion of each transaction i.e. after the item has been received and you are happy with your purchase. Please contact us if you have a problem with an item before leaving negative feedback, as this is not the way to notify us of a problem. Likewise, if you have a problem making payment within the usual time frame, let us know promptly so we can arrange a payment due extension or work out an amicable solution.
